ABOUT THE PARTY: Dassiís mom had not thrown a real birthday party for Dassi since her 1st birthday, and therefore felt that Dassi deserved a very special princess birthday party for her 4th birthday. Instead of a large party, she made an intimate birthday tea party for seven of Dassiís closest friends and cousins, and made sure that every detail was attended to. The smile was still on Dassiís face the next morning when she woke up!
HOW THEY SET TO CELEBRATE: "I wasnít sure where to start in planning a princess tea party. There are so many blogs with great ideas, but then you have to go to 10 different websites to find everything. I had used Set To Celebrate for Dassiís first birthday and it was so beautiful I decided to start there. Once again, I called them and spoke to a very knowledgeable party planner. She took me right to their Princess Party Supplies page and I never went anywhere else. They even special ordered the Princess Dresses for me and helped me with details I never would have thought of on my own!"
"I had two main tables, the tea party table and the cupcake/favor table. I rented a child-sized table with 8 small chairs for the princesses to sit at. I covered the table with a Pink Moire Tablecloth and Set To Celebrate made me 4 satin bows to stick to the corners for an added detail. The chairs were blue and ugly. The party planner suggested that I could make chair covers for the backs of the chairs using their Crepe Table Runners. Luckily my mom sews, and we got 3 chair covers out of each runner (E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for chair cover instructions)!
The tea party table was gorgeous with each place set with a Princess Plate, Princess Napkin, Hot Pink Spoon, a Porcelain Tea Cup and Saucer, a Princess Party Hat and a Place Card with each little girlís name as ďPrincessĒ. The table itself had two Princess Balloon Holder Centerpieces with flowers on the balloon strings that matched the plates and napkins. Sprinkled on the table was Personalized Princess Table Sprinkles that said ďDassi is 4!Ē. I canít believe how beautifully everything was coordinated!Ē
The favor table had a Pink Poly-Lined Tablecloth, a Princess Castle Centerpiece and Personalized Table Sprinkles. During the party we put the cupcakes on the table and then the favor bags towards the end. The castle and paper doll princesses and knights are now beautiful decorations on Dassiís dresser in her room which she often plays with. Of course, we also had a Custom Princess & Photo Banner which is now hanging in Dassiís room.

SCHEDULE, ACTIVITIES & MENU
Princesses arrived at 2pm. On the front door there was a sign for Princess Dassiís Castle. Upon entering the party, each girl was invited into ďPrincess Dassiís ClosetĒ where she found a princess dress with her name on the tag. The girls changed into their princess dressers, and began the afternoon with story time and two princess stories read by Dassiís grandmother. After the princess stories the girls were invited to sit down for the tea party where they were served tea or juice in their porcelain tea cups. After the food was served, the tea cups were washed and Porcelain Paint markers were brought out so that each princess could decorate her tea cup and saucer. The party ended around 4pm. Each tea cup and saucer was wrapped in tissue paper and put into a princess favor bag to take home.
Tea Party Menu:
Sweets: Fruit Lollipops, Demitasse Sorbet Cups & Princess Cupcakes
Drinks: Fruit Tea and Fruit Juice.
Special Touches: Princess Dassiís ClosetĒ - We took a long dowel and rolled satin ribbon around it on an angle. We put two thumbtacks in the top of the molding of the doorframe between the hall way and dining room. Using long pieces of curling ribbon we made two big loops and hung the pole for the closet. It was a great decoration when people walked in and set a tone of pure magic for the girls as they arrived.
